         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Definition:</strong> An abrasion is a superficial wound caused by the skin scraping against a rough surface.</p><p><strong>Initial Care</strong></p><ul><li><p>Wash hands and wear gloves.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Rinse the wound with clean water to remove debris.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Apply antiseptic and cover with a sterile bandage.</p><p><strong>Post Care</strong></p><p>Change the bandage daily or if it becomes wet/dirty.</p><p>Monitor for signs of infection.</p><p>Usually no need for sutures or referrals unless severe.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
