However after an uprising by Christian converts, he outlawed Christianity, killing or driving out Europeans who taught it. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After the ordeal with Christianity, the shogun closed off Japan from most of the world. Most of the world being Europeans. Now only the Chinese and Dutch were able to trade, and only in one spot. Along with keeping people out, the shogun also keep people in so they would travel and come back with ideas. Japan stayed isolated from 1639 to 1853.</div>]]></description>
