What I view as black is simply being just Journey. I'm truly connected to my race but I don't live up to all the stereotypes associated with them. The connection I can make between race and the video is when you look at a person of course you notice their skin color but that isn't who they are.

Whats going on today is that Trump is making the immigrants go back to Mexico. Or how he doesn't like black people. I think this connects with the video during the video it talks about how someone is getting in trouble for something they did not do.

It connects with modern history cause it talks about the wealth gap between black& white Americans. Another reason the chains on the monkeys can connect to the justice system & how they put people on death row. My last connection is how uses the images to show how black people have been historically boxed into specific identities no matter their wealth or fame.

What I view as being black is just being myself, I am black and have no shame. I think this connection I can make with the video between race and the video is that just because you're black that doesn't define who you are just because of what somebody else think.

Whenever I think black people, I don't think of black people, I see people. Skin color doesn't describe a person. It is a trait, not a personal detail. The video even proves this with "I'm not black, I'm O.J." which is true. His name is not black, that's his skin color. His name is O.J., that's his identity.

When I hear "Black" I think of many things. I think of pretty hairstyles such as braids and afros. I think of flavorful dishes and family gatherings. I feel really connected to my "Blackness" and enjoy all these things. Its upsetting seeing people hate these things simply because they made fun of for it. Like implied in the video, at the end of the day we're Black. Not just rich, or smart, or funny but Black men and women.

In today, Raven Symone don't wanna be label as African American. She don't wanna feel attacked and don't wanna be judged. This connects to the music video by showing how Raven's fame changes her and disconnect her from her blackness.

What I view as black is just being me. You can’t let others define who you are. I am connected to my race because I enjoy many things that we do, such as eating soul food. The connection that I can make between race and this video is that no matter what, you will always be black and nobody can change that.
