1. Context: The Hadith of Jibril is one of the most important hadiths, where the Angel Jibril (Gabriel) visited the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the form of a man and asked him questions in front of the companions.

2. Five Pillars of Islam: Jibril asked about Islam, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained the five pillars: Shahada (faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage).

3. Iman (Faith): Jibril asked about Iman, and the Prophet (PBUH) detailed the six articles of faith: belief in Allah, angels, revealed books, prophets, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree (Qadar).

4. Ihsan (Excellence in Worship): Jibril asked about Ihsan, and the Prophet (PBUH) said it is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, know that He sees you.

5. The Signs of the Hour: Jibril inquired about the signs of the Day of Judgment, and the Prophet (PBUH) mentioned signs such as the slave giving birth to her master and the barefooted, naked shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings.

6. Significance: This hadith summarizes the fundamentals of Islamic belief, practice, and spiritual excellence, offering a comprehensive overview of the religion.

Adab in Seeking Knowledge

1. Respect for Teachers and Peers: Show deep respect and appreciation for teachers and fellow students, recognizing the value of their contributions to your learning journey.

2. Patience and Perseverance: The path of knowledge requires time, dedication, and resilience. Be patient with the process and persistent in your efforts.

3. Implementation of Knowledge: Knowledge should be applied in daily life. Act upon what you learn to improve your character and conduct.

4. Avoid Arrogance: Never use knowledge to belittle or dominate others. True knowledge leads to humility and a greater sense of responsibility towards others.

Adab in Knowledge (Manners in Seeking Knowledge):

1. Sincerity (Ikhlas):

- Make sure you’re learning to please Allah, not just for fame or success. Keep your intentions pure.

2. Humility:

- Stay humble. No matter how much you know, remember there’s always more to learn. Knowledge is a gift from Allah.

3. Respect for Teachers:

- Treat your teachers with respect. They are helping you learn, and that’s something to value and appreciate.

4. Patience and Perseverance:

- Learning takes time and effort. Don’t give up when it gets tough. Be patient and keep going.

5. Implementation of Knowledge:

- Knowledge isn’t just for knowing; it’s for doing. Use what you learn to improve yourself and help others.

6. Respect for Books:

- Handle books carefully and with respect. They carry valuable knowledge, so treat them well.

Al-Qur’an as the Book of Guidance:

1. Divine Revelation:

- The Qur’an is the word of Allah, given to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to guide everyone.

2. Comprehensive Guidance:

- The Qur’an gives advice for every part of life, from how to behave to how to live a good life.

3. Universal Message:

- The teachings of the Qur’an are for everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from.

4. Source of Wisdom:

- The Qur’an offers wise advice and solutions for the problems we face in life.

5. Spiritual Healing:

- Reading and thinking about the Qur’an brings peace and helps you feel closer to Allah.

6. Eternal Relevance:

- The guidance in the Qur’an is always relevant, no matter what time or place. It helps us stay on the right path.

1. Belief in Allah (God):

- Muslims believe there is only one God, called Allah, who created everything in the universe. He is all-powerful, knows everything, and is kind and merciful. Muslims worship Allah alone and do not believe He has any partners or children. Allah is the only one who deserves to be worshipped.

2. Belief in Angels:

- Muslims believe that Allah created angels from light. Angels don’t have free will, which means they always obey Allah’s commands. They have important jobs like protecting people, recording our good and bad actions, and delivering messages from Allah. The angel Jibril (Gabriel) is the one who brought the Quran to Prophet Muhammad.

3. Belief in the Holy Books:

Muslims believe that Allah sent special books to guide people on how to live a good life. These books include

• Quran (given to Prophet Muhammad)

• Torah (given to Prophet Moses)

• Bible (Injil) (given to Prophet Jesus),

• Psalms (Zabur) (given to Prophet David).

The Quran is the final and complete book, and Muslims believe it hasn’t changed over time.

In addition to the Pillars of Iman, Muslims believe in the concept of Tawhid, which means the oneness of Allah. There are three types of Tawhid:

1. Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship):

- This means believing that Allah is the only Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of everything. He controls everything in the universe, and nothing happens without His will. No one shares this power with Him.

2. Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Worship):

- This means that Allah is the only one who deserves to be worshipped. Muslims should pray, ask for help, and show devotion only to Allah. Worshipping anyone or anything besides Allah is considered shirk (associating partners with Allah), which is a major sin.

3. Tawhid al-Asma' wa al-Sifat (Oneness of Names and Attributes):

- This means believing in the names and attributes of Allah as they are mentioned in the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Allah has many beautiful names, like Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) and Al-Hakeem (The All-Wise). Muslims believe these names describe Allah’s perfect qualities, and no one else can have these same qualities in the way Allah does.

• Allah sent prophets to teach people the right way. Muslims believe in all prophets, from Adam to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was the last prophet.

5. Belief in the Day of Judgment:

• Muslims believe that one day, the world will end, and everyone will be brought back to life. On that day, Allah will judge everyone for what they did in this life.

6. Belief in Allah’s Plan:

• Muslims believe that Allah controls everything. While people make choices, everything happens according to Allah’s plan.

   Relation of Ihsan to Islamic Eschatology

   Ihsan is deeply intertwined with Islamic eschatology, as it embodies the mindfulness, moral excellence, and sincerity that prepare a Muslim for a successful outcome in the afterlife. By living with the awareness that Allah is ever-watchful, Muslims are motivated to live a life of good deeds, knowing that their actions are not only for this world but will impact their eternal future.

Niyyah (Intention)

Definition:

Niyyah is the intention behind an act, done for Allah’s sake.

Importance:

- Differentiates acts done for Allah from those done for others

- Without niyyah, deeds may not be accepted

How to set the right niyyah:

1. Sincerity: Do it for Allah

2. Purity: No ulterior motives

3. Clarity: Know your intention

4. Focus: Avoid distractions

5. Consistency: Keep the same intention throughout

Amal (Good Deeds)

Definition:

-Amal means performing good deeds and worship with sincerity. It benefits individuals and society.

Examples of Amal:

• Salah

• Zakat

• Fasting

• Hajj

• Acts of kindness

Hadith on Islam, Faith, and Excellence (Ihsan):

A man asked Prophet Muhammad (SAW) about Islam, faith, and ihsan. The Prophet explained:

• Islam: Testimony, prayer, charity, fasting, Hajj

• Faith: Belief in Allah, angels, books, messengers, the Last Day, and destiny

• Ihsan: Worship Allah as if you see Him, knowing He sees you

Ehsan (Excellence in Character)

Definition:

Ehsan means living with virtues like compassion, honesty, humility, and patience.

How to develop Ehsan:

1. Awareness - Learn its importance

2. Understanding - Know what it looks like in life

3. Action - Practice good character

4. Reflection - Evaluate your behavior

5. Acquisition - Make it a part of your life

Reasons for Hikmah

1. Gift from Allah – Allah grants wisdom to whom He wills. (Quran 2:269)

2. Applying Knowledge – Wisdom comes from using knowledge correctly.

3. Taqwa (Fear of Allah) – Consciousness of Allah brings wisdom. (Quran 8:29)

4. Life Experience – Learning from past events and mistakes.

5. Reflection (Tafakkur) – Thinking deeply about life and creation.

6. Following the Prophet (PBUH) – His teachings guide us to wisdom.

• The true success is found in faith and righteousness. Believers are those who have achieved real success by being faithful to Allah.

"Those who humble themselves in their prayer."

• Humility in Salah is essential. It's not just about physical acts but having a focused, humble heart when standing before Allah.

"And they who turn away from ill speech."

• Believers avoid gossip, lies, and harmful talk, focusing on words that bring benefit and peace.

4.

"And they who are observant of their zakah."

• Giving zakah purifies wealth and helps those in need, reflecting a believer’s generosity and social responsibility.

5.

"And they who guard their private parts."

• Believers maintain chastity and respect for the sanctity of relationships, protecting themselves from immoral behavior.

6.

"Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed."

• Legal and permissible intimacy within marriage is honored, and this relationship is a source of stability and blessing.

7.

"But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors."

• Straying outside the lawful relationships is forbidden. Respecting boundaries is essential to stay righteous.

8.

"And they who are faithful to their trusts and promises."

• Believers uphold their trusts, fulfilling commitments and promises, whether personal or professional.

9.

"And they who carefully maintain their prayer."

• Maintaining regular, sincere prayers is a sign of commitment and devotion to Allah, ensuring closeness to Him.

10.

"They will inherit paradise."

• The reward for such believers is eternal happiness in Jannah, where they will find peace and satisfaction forever.

11.

"They will abide therein eternally."

• True believers will enjoy everlasting bliss and rewards in paradise, a promise from Allah for those who live with faith and righteousness.

1. Gratitude benefits the grateful person; Allah is self-sufficient (12).

2. Avoid shirk, as it’s the greatest injustice (13).

3. Honor your parents, especially your mother (14).

4. Even if parents encourage shirk, loyalty to Allah comes first (15).

5. Allah knows all, even the smallest actions, no matter where (16).

6. Establish prayer, do good, forbid evil, and be patient (17).

7. Avoid pride; be humble and respectful (18).

8. Be modest in speech and behavior (19).

1. Fasting is prescribed to develop taqwa, just as it was for previous nations (183).

2. Fasting is for a limited time. Exceptions exist for those who are sick or traveling, as Allah intends ease, not hardship (184).

3. Ramadan is the month of Quran’s revelation, filled with guidance. Fasting is obligatory, but those who are ill or traveling can make up the days later (185).

4. Allah is near and responds to those who call upon Him in supplication. He hears our prayers (186).

5. Marital relations are permitted during the nights of fasting. Eat and drink until dawn, and complete the fast until sunset (187).
