「寫一封信，改變生命」是寫信馬拉松的精神。

有時候一封信能改變一個人的生命，這是國際特赦組織寫信馬拉松秉持的理念。每年12月，全球各地的支持者加入寫信馬拉松行動，寫下數百萬封信，一起聲援那些人權遭侵害的人們。這個寫信聲援人權的活動已經延續超過20年，至今已是世界最盛大的人權活動，也為超過100人的生命帶來改變。

Q：為何一個聲援對象會有兩個以上的地址？
通常兩個地址之中其中一到兩個個是給政府，因為政府是我們施壓的對象，國家有義務保障人民的人權，除了主要訴求對象，有時也會有次要的訴求對象！

另一個通常是給聲援對象本人或是他的家人，想想看這些對象通常都經歷痛苦的過往，甚至還在牢房裡，並且長時間無法等到正義降臨，他們與家人內心的焦慮和疲憊難以言喻，我們的信件能夠讓他們知道自己並未被世界遺忘，若是聲援對象本人放棄了權益的爭取，不管其他人再怎麼努力聲援都沒有意義，所以鼓勵聲援對象本人和他的家人對我們來說也同等重要！但每一個行動指示不一樣，請參考行動指示會清楚地標示那些要聲援的對象分別要寫信給誰，訴求內容也會隨著寫信對象不同而不同！

Q6：寫明信片要注意什麼？我英文不好怎麼辦？
我們鼓勵大家用自己的母語寫信，因為同時間會有國際特赦組織全球行動者雪片般的信件飛到該信箱，所以你的母語信件代表你的文化、族裔、國家等等認同，代表全世界說著各種語言和不同文化背景的人都同等關心普世人權的實現！

至於對方看得懂中文嗎？有時政府會需要將收到的信件翻譯成該國語言，有時候圖像比文字更有力量，最重要的是，一定要用原文寫上對方的名字或社群的名字，這樣就一目了然了！

Q7：明信片的內容需要很嚴肅嗎？
不一定！你可以用簡單但強而有力的幾個字表達你的訴求，你也可以文情並茂的參考國際特赦組織的呼籲內容寫一封信，你甚至可以提到自己的生命經驗，讓對方看出你真心誠意的希望他能夠重視你的呼籲！

Q8：我可以隨便拿一張明信片寫嗎？還是一定要特定格式的明信片？
都可以喔！有些支持受害者的明信片甚至可以配合他們的興趣選特定主題的明信片，不過最簡單的方式就是隨意拿一張空白明信片寫上內容！

Q9：我會收到回信嗎？
的確曾經有朋友收到回信，例如政府回信承諾會做出改變，或是聲援對象回信表達感謝，你可以在寫信時留下自己的地址。

Q10：每天在世界上侵犯人權的事情這麼多，所以到底這些案件是怎麼選出來的？
國際特赦組織考量性別、區域的平衡之後，依策略選出這些案件，每個案件代表的是他本人還有他的社群，但也不僅如此，被選中的案件也代表國際特赦組織在該區域的工作重心，以及該區域/國家很普遍的人權侵犯典型。

這些案件同時也是我們的研究團隊評估認為有可能透過大家大規模寫信聲援的行動方式達到改變的案子，有些案件若是有更適用的方式（例如給政府公開信或是透過國際組織遊說），或許就不會出現在寫信馬拉松裡面了！
