Blackletter font is used mainly for letters and old fashion writings. It can sometimes be hard to read but thats what makes it unique.

Examples: Alex Brush, Kaushan Script, Allura, Euphoria Script, Great Vibes

Script font is basically cursive and appears to be written by hand and using a pen. People can use this font as a substitute for cursive.

Examples: Plasma Drip, Burnsdown, Distant Galaxy, Harry Potter, Loki Cola

Novelty font is my favorite type of font and is mainly used for display and it is unique because it is the leftover fonts that are so different that they cannot fit into any other category. You can see by the example names that they seem like fun looking fonts.

Examples: Slab serifs, Old Style, Transitional serif, Ditone, Slab

Serif is what people are most likely used to seeing because it is what most the clothing brand and brands in general use for their name. It is the simple writing that is very easy to read. Serif fonts usually have decorative details at the the ends of the letters called hands and feet.

Examples: Agency FB, Akzidenz-Grotesk, Amplitude, Andale Sans, Aptos

Sans Serif is very similar to Serif because it is simple and easy to read. The difference is that Sans Serif fonts don't have the decorative lines referred to as hands or feet at the end of letters and Serif does.
