This assignment will centralise around learning intentions from the Junior Cycle Specification, as seen above. My main focus is on the Chemical World, but it will quickly come to light that the specification intertwines all aspects of the syllabus. The study found that "Science teachers who use direct instruction, adapt instruction according to students’ needs, were more likely have better science achievement". This consolidated my belief in the adoption of differentiation into each class. In order for my students to thrive in this subject, lessons need to cater to their needs and uplift them.
Furthermore, despite traditional ideals, it is unclear if teacher-centred learning benefits students' achievement in science in the long term (Li et al, 2021 ). For this reason, I felt it was vital to take a student-centred approach to my lessons, and will continue to do so.
