         <description><![CDATA[<div>Wait time 1 is the amount of time given after a teacher asks a question, for students to respond.<br><br>Wait time 2 is the amount of pause time in the middle of the student response that a teacher gives before responding.<br><br>The challenges of longer wait times it takes control away from the teacher, as students have more control over the structure of the conversation.&nbsp; The teacher may feel that the conversation goes in unexpected directions.<br><br>The benefits of longer wait times are that it allows for students to feel comfortable expanding on ideas, and take the discourse to more in depth  areas.</div>]]></description>
