This relates to the story because Ishmael and the group are not used to not having food all the time. So when they see this boy eating corn they snap because they are not used to being alone and not having a good meal. So when they steal the boys corn it really shows how they really don't want any food and are struggling.

This is because the moon is peaceful and everyone likes the moon. In the story, when Ishmael gets to the looted town where everyone is dead, he makes a point to mention the moon is not there. Ishmael makes a point to study the moon because of his grandmother.

This story relates to the whole thing because it shows what people will do when they have no other choice. Ishmael and his friends were so hungry, that it drove them to attack a small boy and steal from him. In the book Ishmael says that he felt guilty but he knew, in his position, there was no time for remorse. This shows that they all know how bad the situation they are in actually is.

This also shows his character-development and loss of a portion of his morality. In addition, this portrays a conflict with hunger and is just a start to this boy's losses in purity and morality in relation to the work as a whole

I think coconut tree is relates to this story because Ishmael is escapes and separates from his brother and friends. And food that available in every village is coconut. He does not know how to climb coconut tree. But due for tired, hungry and thirsty he able to climb the tree and pick coconut as fast as he can. The tree is hard to climb but coconut is really sweet and delicious. So I think when you need to do something to survive you can do everything you did not try before. ^^!

The boys had been tortured by the soldiers of another village and had been forced to run in the hot sand for hours on end w/o shoes. By nightfall they had reached the old fishermans hut. He found them sitting there with injured feet. He had cared for them and after a couple of weeks they were healed and fed, all of this, was done by the old man.
