By Autumn 1918, the German Military leaders recognized the collapse of their forces and the hopelessness of winning the World War 1, prompting a decision to seek a ceasefire. As awareness of indefinate defeat, spreading revolts, erupted across German cities, eroding government and military support. On Novermber 9, Chancellor Prince Max von Baden announced Kaiser Wilheim ll's abdicatoon and the formation of a new government. the Supreme Command urged a rapid ceasefire agreement, resulting in a signed ceasefire effective at 11am on November 11, 1918, despite later blaming left wing officials for the defeat. Understanding the World War 1 is important because it shaped the modern world in many ways. The importance of this is to prevent further catastrophic loss of life and destruction.

These dire conditions created a deseperation that the Nazi Party exploited, promising jobs and blaming Jews for the crisis ultimately contributing to their rise to power in early 1933.

This is important because it highlighted the economic prosperity in the U.S in the 1920's, it was followed by a stock market crash, which led to a panic and a decline in stock prices.
