A: Furthermore thjs reminds them of their difference in societal hierarchy from the artist and that the action of purchasing the painting would only show that they were rlly selfish human beings and when a painting with such meaning is hung up in the couple's home they would constantly be reminded of the artist's poverty and this shows juxtaposition as is contradicts the purpose of a painting which should evoke good feelings in one but instead such a painting in a home cause one to sense major discomfort and their selfish inner behaviour to not help the poor.
