Para pagar a sus soldados, su sobrino Martín Antolínez engaña a los judíos Raquel y Vidas. En Cardeña se despide de su esposa doña Jimena y de sus hijas pequeñas, Sol y Elvira. En sueños se le aparece el arcángel Gabriel, que le predice grandes victorias. Entra en tierra de moros y les arrebata diversas plazas. Envía al rey un espléndido presente esperando reconciliarse con él y recuperar su honra perdida. Reforzadas sus tropas, ataca Huesca y derrota a los moros de Lérida, ayudado por el conde de Barcelona, al que hace prisionero y libera días después.

2- Cantar de las bodas: El Cid conquista Valencia y envía nuevo presente al rey castellano, al tiempo que le pide deje ir a su lado a su esposa e hijas. El rey accede. Al poco tiempo, la ciudad es sitiada por el rey de Marruecos. El Cid lo derrota y envía un tercer presente al rey Alfonso. Los infantes de Carrión solicitan la mano de las hijas del Cid. Interviene el rey para lograr el consentimiento del Cid, a quien perdona pública y solemnemente.

3- Cantar de la afrenta de Corpes: Se pone en evidencia la cobardía de los infantes de Carrión en diversos hechos de armas y en el episodio del león. Los infantes, dolidos, deciden regresar a Carrión con sus esposas. En el robledal de Corpes, los infantes de Carrión azotan a sus mujeres y las abandonan teniéndolas por muertas. Enterado el Cid pide al rey justicia. Los infantes son vencidos en un duelo por dos de los hombres del Cid. El anuncio de que los infantes de Navarra y Aragón solicitan en matrimonio a las hijas del Cid da fin al poema.

En medio del alto bosque que allí en la montaña está manda acampar Mío Cid y pienso a las bestias dar. Dice a sus hombres que aquella noche tendrían que andar y ellos, tan buenos vasallos, por muy contentos se dan que todo lo que les mande su señor ellos lo harán.
