Audience: Potential investors in Queen’s YouTube channel

What Millennial wouldn't want to get the news through song and dance, and Freddie Mercury in skin tight leather pants?

Young people today are concerned with the events going on in the world, and they want to get involved. But a vast majority of them don’t sit down and read or watch the news to get informed. No, they go on YouTube, Snapchat, or TikTtok. They want the information, in short, enjoyable, understandable, and easy to pay attention to packages.

This is where a new musical group who call themselves “Queen” enters the picture. Their YouTube channel produces musical skits about current and trending events that can be described as musical comedy with a more serious underlying message about the times we live in. They have been described as the Daily Show meets a musical version of Saturday Night Live with the boundaries of South Park, with the story told solely through song and visuals, no dialogue.

While a majority of Queen’s content is a hair’s breadth away from overstepping the boundaries of socially acceptable material the youth can’t get enough of it. You may have seen one of their earlier videos “I Want To Break Free” the first to become viral, bringing with it massive popularity and a ban by YouTube (O'Gorman, 2020). A few of their other videos have been banned from YouTube for violating its community guidelines, but this only boosts their popularity, as people crave creators that aren’t afraid to push the envelope. They love Queen’s content and can’t get enough of it, even if the censors at YouTube say it goes too far. With Queens newfound success and meteoric rise in subscribers YouTube is now much less likely to issue any punishments compared to when Queen was first starting out. And as we all know content is king, or Queen in this case, and it’s the clicks that count.

This sudden rise in popularity gives you the opportunity to invest in an emerging YouTube channel at the ground floor, with the assurance that it will create an audience large enough to produce a noticeable amount of revenue. The increase in production quality and rate of video production caused by your investment would only further the potential profits from Queen. No one else is doing this or has done this before. Queen’s videos could pioneer a whole new sub genre of YouTube videos, and their preliminary success provides evidence for just that.

O'Gorman, M. (2020, March 24). How I Want To Break Free became Queen's most controversial song.
