I am a Child and Family Specialist, my mission in in applying life skills and guiding children in the foster care, aiming for them to be successful once they graduate from our program. My long term goal is to own my lipstick business and managing my own company in the future.

I have started my own business with the hope of ending animal testing in cosmetics. I've developed my own cruelty-free formula to nurture lips in the most natural way, empowering beauty without harm. Formulating lipstick straight from my kitchen has been one of the most humble experiences ever. I've learned the lesson of not giving up and the art of chemistry. It took me six months to come up with the perfect base and another six months to develop my own pigment.

FIRST-GENERATION

I take great pride in being a first-generation student. Born in El Salvador, I came to the United States in 2007 and navigated the education system as an undocumented student, successfully overcoming many challenges. Currently in grad school, working full-time, and building my business, this journey has been incredibly satisfying. I've evolved since my undergrad years and continue to grow. My goal is to become the best version of myself in this lifetime and, one day, to help young girls facing challenges similar to mine.

Not being a citizen in this country hasn't stopped me from living the American Dream. If anything, it has empowered me to claim this country as mine and take advantage of all the opportunities it offers. Being an American Dreamer has been my favorite journey in my lifetime. It has taught me that, as a human being, I am capable of being a lifelong learner.

Sometimes, I am amazed at how Spanish was my first language, and now English has become my primary language. English, a universal language, is helping me turn my dreams into reality. It guides me in my career, fosters my love for all cultures, and even aids me in translation. Yet, Spanish remains my first teacher, the language where I learned to read, write, and communicate. English, on the other hand, is the language that is helping me grow. ¡Osea! No soy de aquí, ni soy de allá.
