I looked up the translation for our college 'motto' lucere et ardere, but the translations varied. Some of the translations were "enlighten with knowledge and enliven with faith," "rise and shine," "contemplation life alone is not enough; active life alone is vain" and "shine and burn." I don't really like any of these and I don't want to misinterpret the correct translation so I won't use this as a tagline.
