         <description><![CDATA[<div>-The very poor people took the worst jobs. <br>-These people had little education and took the jobs with really bad condition and the lowest wages. <br>-Factories and plants where employees worked for hours were paid less than the government's minimum wage. <br>-These working conditions were dangerous and risked employees lives. <br>-A sweatshop where workers made artificial Christmas trees were paid $1 and hour with no benefits. <br>-The workers had no job security. <br>-Once the Christmas season was over, they were out in the streets again. </div>]]></description>

Just over 40 years old, but who were still too young to qualify for Social Security.&nbsp;<br>- These men had to deal with low-paying jobs, but were the first to be fired by employers. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Some of the worst areas of poverty was in the South and southeastern United States. <br>- Farmers were unable to make a quality living from farming. <br>- They lived in bad homes without running water or bathrooms. <br>- Many people living int these areas would often get sick and caused them to have health problems. <br>- Children had skin infections, eye and ear diseases and ate poor food which had bacteria and later, children suffered from anemia. <br>- These kids lost their energy and and ability to live a normal, active life.   </div>]]></description>
