Abstraction seems to me to be the most important of the concepts of computational thinking when it comes to searching for information online. Weeding out advertisements and misinformation/disinformation is a skill that even adults need more practice with, and with the introduction of AI technology, it will become even more vital to be able to sift through unreliable information.

I used computational thinking while making my Google searches to help find specific answers. I found abstraction to be the most important part of CT that I used. Abstraction is the process of breaking down information to find the main idea. I used this by avoiding ads and focusing on real information that would help me find a venue. In my classroom, we could practice abstraction by making similar Google searches. This would teach my students how to find important information and not misinformation when actually using Google in the future.

I would have to agree that abstraction is one of the most important concept from CT when searching for information online. Due to the vastness of everything online gathering information that is factual and not bias can be daunting but necessary. Keeping away from advertisements and incorrect information is important to gathering accurate data or information for any research. Even with the AI advancements, AI also gathers and can create false information that is put forth as true. I would want my students to be aware that they need to not just take the initial search results or AI results as true fact and would need to verify what source that information is coming from.
