Inspiration

My inspiration from the news called 6.10.2022 Tangshan BBQ restaurant sexual violence incident. The details of what happened are 9 males sexually harassed 4 females unsuccessfully and hit these girls.

This was a case of gender-based violence, and I felt compassionate and angry at what happened to them.

The direction of my research

As I look back at the case and the surveillance video of the violence, some questions always come to mind:

If the men who were there had been willing to stand up to the women or take action, would this atrocity have been stopped?

If people could stop the perpetrators at the sexual harassment stage, could violence against women afterward be avoided?

I brought myself into the situation as a victim and thought long and hard about what I could do to stop the violence and ended up with a deep sense of despair and fear because I couldn't think of any way to help me get out of it.
But now I realize it's not that there isn't a solution, it's that it's a long journey.

Design thinking of poster

The poster depicts a story based on the ideals of a real-life vicious incident, as in the original incident, there were far more men on the scene than the perpetrators, but only a handful of men came forward and the girls were treated inhumanely/unconscionably by the perpetrators because they were not helped in time.

At the same time, I think there is a need for someone to organize and tell men how to act safely and effectively. The posters need to give a clear and effective message to sensitize men to gender violence and make them more responsive.

As the slogan says "See it. Say it. Sorted" - British transport police, I hope that through these three posters people will see more of this incident and engage in a discussion about it, by linking men's and women's positions together to promote By linking men's and women's positions together and promoting dialogue and reflection, a change in perception and awareness will lead to a change in action. To make feminist ideas common sense in society.

Because the theme of gender-based violence that I was researching was in line with what HeForShe Alliance was doing, and the fact that the organization was working to invite men and boys to join the gender equality movement was also in line with the target audience I wanted to attract. As well as my aim of making the poster aligned with the organization's desire to increase awareness.

I think social campaigns have a responsibility to speak out about this heinous event, mobilize their social resources to help the victims, and inform people how to act safely and effectively to help the victims if they encounter a similar event.

Pros:
The photographic images give a realistic feel and allow the viewer to be easily transported into the scenes created.

Cons:
When the photographic composition is very full, it may be more comfortable to subtract and pair it with a short text, which is more focused when you read it.
In relation to my theme, it is more powerful to reinforce just one message than to give multiple juxtaposed courses of action.

Realistic:
