Stimulated

The definition of stimulated is to encourage interest or activity in a subject. The last time I felt stimulated was recently when I watched the movie Parasite. I first watched Parasite in theaters but when it became available on streaming services I wanted to watch it again because of how much I liked it the first time. Parasite is a psychological thriller/comedy that focused on a poor family and a rich family. It has a lot of different type of symbolism and metaphors that will make more sense if you watch the movie more than once. While watching the movie there are a lot of instances where you kind of have to step and really how messed up some of these characters. Something that helped in me feeling stimulated was when I realized i didn't know which family I was rooting for. The rich family that already had everything they could ever wish for but were getting hustled by the poor family or the poor family that was just trying to survive anyway they could all while being looked down upon by others including the rich family simply for being of the lower class. I think other people would have a similar dilemma as I did when watching this movie.

The definition of appreciative is to show feelings of gratitude or pleasure. The last time I experienced this emotion was on my birthday July 6th. I felt appreciative because my parents had given me quite a bit of money for my birthday and so did my sister. i had expressed to them that I wanted nothing more than than their presence for my birthday but when they told me that I had to at least give them an idea of what I could want I said some money would do. I realized that even though I suggested to them that money was the present that I would like in the end they didn't have to give me money for my birthday or the amount of money that they did. Not everyone has the option of telling their parents what they want for their birthday because they already know their parent can't get it or that they don't have parents that ask them things like that. I realized that I needed to be more grateful towards my family and the privileges they have given me.

The definition of mellow is to relax and enjoy oneself. The last time I did that was when me. my sister, and my mom went to the park our gated community has. We went there in order to film a video my sister had to make for her job. In the making of this video we had to demonstrate how to play a game that even we didn't know how to play which made the process more fun. When we filmed the video the sun was going down so there was a nice breeze going through the air and it felt nice. The feeling of the sun not to hot on my skin but just right and the nice cool breeze from the ocean complemented the whole evening. I hadn't been outside much so the feeling almost felt foreign to me but it was nice to experience it again. Being in that environment felt like a huge weight taken off my shoulders as if I didn't have a thing in the world to worry about. I have truly never felt so carefree which I considered a miracle since i usually over think everything and that in turn makes me really stressed out.

The definition of empowered is make someone stronger and more confident. A time I felt empowered was in the middle of June when I did something I have never done before. I posted of picture of myself on my Instagram profile. I know that might sound kind of foolish but it was a big step for me because I had never done it before and I wasn't sure how people were gonna react. I rarely post photos of myself because I don't see myself as a photogenic person and so I don't think I look good in photos. When I posted it I didn't realize but I was shaking because of how nervous I was. I was surprised that a minute later I got my first comment it was from one of my best friends Julianna telling me that I looked gorgeous. I remember feeling so appreciative of the fact that she commented on my post as I had expressed to her previously that I was nervous about posting but she reassured that it was gonna be fine. After hours passed by I checked and saw that I had 79 comments on my post of my face and was surprised and pleased that many people commented. I've always struggled with self confidence because I never saw girls that looked like me be symbols of beauty or be models. Over the quarantine though I started making progress with my self confidence journey and I still am but I think posting that picture was definitely a turning point in my journey where I felt i could really see my progress.

The definition of jubilant is the feeling of great happiness and triumph. I felt this when I went out for the first time since quarantine started (besides going grocery shopping) and going to hang out with my friends at a drive in theater. I had never been to a drive in theater before and I had always wanted to attend one at least once in my life. I went with my friend Julianna and Zoe, and Zoe invited some guys that we didn't know but she knew which was kind of weird but we went along with it. The price for the tickets was cheap only being 10 dollars. Like I said before I have never been to a drive in theater so I never knew how big those type of theaters are but there was three different screens that were huge and all had separate entrances making the lot looking even bigger. It was really nice to just be in our own car and watch the movie from their since it was actually really cozy and relaxing. Zoe brought a bunch of snacks and me and julianna ate them and gave some to the guys that joined us. I was so happy that day because I had missed my friends so much since I hadn't seen them in almost 4 months. i'm really only social around my friends so being cutoff almost completely from them was hard because just like anyone else I needed human interaction other than with the family I live with. On that day I truly wished it would never end.
