Born in the depths of the deep Chitwan jungle, the youngest of 7 children, Ajay was never without something to do, someone or some thing to play with.   

NARRATIVE
Dona sat on the walls surrounding her family’s farm, staring out onto the mountainside. She sat and waited for her brother to come back from that hill every day since he left. He took the cattle up there a month and a half ago to feed on the lush mountain pasture. The grass that surrounded their plains was all chewed up by the time summer rolled around. Her family pestered her for wasting precious time sitting and waiting when she should be helping her sisters prepare dinner.

Sylvia has medium-length wavy brown hair. She wears long cotton dresses in the summer with Birkenstocks. She eats only organic food and shops at the local CO-OP. Needless to say, she didn’t vote for Boris Johnson. 

Sylvia likes to take her pointer dog on long walks down the beaches near Norfolk. Sometimes, she lets her dog off his leash and he runs around looking for crabs.

Every summer, on the first official day, without fail, I get on the highway and head south. There is nothing more important than me than keeping this tradition – my American responsibility to drive to a place where there is joy.
