Special Needs Learner: The story is already being read aloud, so that should help a special needs learner with the reading material. Clear, step-by-step instructions of each activity will be written on the board and then read aloud to the class. The student will be allowed to work at their own pace. A para can help the students work through the activities or all the students can pair up and complete the activities together. The student will be provided with a study sheet with the highlights of the lesson. The questions on the Kahoot will be read aloud to the class.

Non-Native English Speaker: The student will be provided with a YouTube video of the book being read in Spanish. They can listen to it using earbuds. They can follow along in their book just like the rest of the students are. The vocabulary flashcards for this student can have both the English version of the word and the Spanish version of the word.

Gifted Student: If the gifted student already knows all of the vocabulary words, he/she can read through the story and write down any words that they don't already know. They can look up the definitions and then I will explain to them how they can make their own flashcards on quizlet. Another possibility for the gifted student is to extend the writing lesson. The gifted student can write a five sentence paragraph instead three. They can then illustrate their story using Pixton instead of using the My Storybook techk-tool.
