Hummingbirds are very smart creatures and have excellent memory. It is thought that hummingbirds remember every flower and feeder in their territory and on the route they take for migration.

Due to a hummingbird's mother not teaching her offsprings how to map their territory or helping them remember what is on the route of migration. Because of this lack of teaching from the mother, all of this is considered innate behavior.

#2 Example; Sleeping Behavior

Due to hummingbirds having such high metabolisms and fast, to survive they have to go into a very deep sleep. Their deep sleep allows them to slow down their metabolism and lower their body temperature. This process saves over half of their energy at night.

The benefits of the social behavior as a whole for living things is that the animals have behaviors that they do not need to learn. This meaning that they are already less dependent on another animal teaching them how to survive than some other animals are.
