In my opinion bicyclists should follow the rules of the road. The should follow the rules of the road because: one, they should not interfere when other moving cars or trucks that are moving different directs as them. Two, they can crash into tourist or people walking by. Three, they can make other people on the road crash. In "Leaders to bikers: slow down" it states "Denner is a tourist who barely avoided an accident while biking on the bridge. After her near miss, Denner thought the proposed speed limits sounded reasonable. "This person wearing full bike gear came [right at] me. I wasn't expecting it," said Denner, adding, "It was a little scary. I think having a speed limit would be a good thing." As you can see bikers should follow the rules of the road for the safety of them selves and others.

Bicyclists should not follow rules of the road because rules of cars and trucks are different than rules of bicycles. Cars and trucks have different speed limits than bikes because cars can go up to 80 mph but bikes can only go to 10 mph on the San Francisco Bridge. This proves that San Francisco wants to keep the town safe and doesn't want the bikes to go to fast because that can cause accidents with bikes. This explains that bikes are fun but if you go to fast it can cause accidents. That is why bikes should not follow rules of the road but should have their own rules.

I think bicyclists should follow the rules to the road just like cars and trucks.

According to the text " Bicyclists often block the bridge's narrow paths ". This shows that bicyclists don't care about other drivers. For instance "Sometimes, they crash into tourists who stop their bikes to drink in the breathtaking views from the immense bridge ". This means that bicyclists would rather look at the breathtaking veiw instead of being kind and letting the other bicyclists go. The text states "The study found that there were 165 bicycle crashes from 2000 to 2009. Speed was noted as a cause in 39 percent of those accidents". Also is the bicyclists stop to look at the veiw and bridge they are putting there lives at risk by stoping. This is because the bicyclists are distacted in the veiw they don't even notice that they could get hit or worse. Lastly this is why I think that bicyclists should follow the rules.

Bicyclists should have different rules of the road. First, the article states, "This person wearing full bike gear came [right at] me. I wasn't expecting it," said Denner, adding, "It was a little scary—I think having a speed limit would be a good thing." This shows an accident that could have been avoided if the bikers had different rules. All in all, bicycle riders should have different rules of the road.

    Yes they should.

According to the text, they should because they would be safer. Some rules they should follow should be "Go with traffic. Watch for cars, people, and other bikers.

✔ Watch for cars pulling out of or in to parking spaces or driveways."

This proves the bikers should follow the road rules. Another reason is,"However, officials say that some have been riding too fast. In some cases, riders traveled more than 20 mph across the bridge. This show's, that the biker was going to fast and might cause an accident. To sum things up, Bikers should follow the road rules.

Yes, I think bicycle riders should follow the same rules as cars and trucks. According to the text, "Rules of the Road", for example, " Biking across the bridge can be dangerous, however." "Sometimes, bikers run into one another." This quote exemplifies that the bikers should follow the same rules as cars and trucks because otherwise they will get hurt since they are not following the rules. Therefore, bikers, cars, and trucks should follow the same rules. This helps bikers with their safety. Also, it would help if the bikers are more aware and go in the same direction as traffic too! If they don't this can cause an accident if a biker hits a car / truck. To sum things up trucks, cars, and bikers should follow the same rules as each other on the road!

Another reason that bikers should follow the same rules is because, the text, " Rules of the Road " states "Klimo says that tourists often stop to look at the water, the city, and other scenery. " This quote proves that if bikers stop to look at the view on the Golden Gate Bridge, this causes most of the accidents. In addition, the bikers stop to look at the view and the cars, trucks can not, so this causes accidents. For instance, the bikers are stopping in the middle of the road!!! Also, the cars / trucks try to stop but they hit into the biker. To sum things up bikers, trucks, and cars should follow the same rules on the road.

As you can see, bikers, cars, and trucks should follow the same rules. This will cause less accidents / injuries!!!
