I don't think they are trying to decide people. Getting paid bi-weekly makes the check look bigger, and makes you think you're getting paid a decent amount every two weeks. When weekly seems like a little amount of money every week. Or monthly where its a lot of money, but only once a month.

the benefit of getting paid bi-weekly is that it gives you money throughout the month. Which would be used for gas, groceries, and emergencies. Monthly would leave you with little days to pay off rent or last minute things because saving the rest and waiting until the next paycheck. I think bi-weekly is the most beneficial and smart way to pay, unless you have a big corporate salary job.

There isn't anything confusing about my paycheck. I work for a rising company and a small family business. The family business has sometimes missed a day I worked and got my hours wrong, but it's an easy fix. Everything else on my paychecks are easy, and basic things.

I don’t believe companies are trying to deceive us with bi-weekly pay. You’re still compensated for all the hours you work; the paycheck just appears larger when paid bi-weekly. If the pay periods don’t match up perfectly, I understand why it might cause some confusion.

It’s also more efficient for companies since they don’t have to process payroll every single week. On the other hand, weekly pay is ideal if you have weekly expenses or prefer receiving a paycheck every week.

I’m not confused about anything on my paycheck. At my job, I work under the accountant, and one of my responsibilities is running payroll weekly. I’m familiar with all the deductions involved. From my experience, bi-weekly payroll is definitely more efficient.

1. I don’t think that companies are trying to deceive us by telling us hourly rates instead of weekly or biweekly. I think having it broken down into hours helps us decide if the work we’re doing is worth it each hour. I also believe that it puts less work on certain departments by having to send out checks less often which is less repetitive work being done.

2. The only major benefit I’d say is that you get your money you worked for sooner. You also could argue that it makes your budgeting easier to get paid multiple times a month since you don’t have to play so far out. I personally would rather be paid bi-weekly just for the encouragement to keep pushing forward.

3. In the past I’ve had confusion with how certain taxes worked especially in another state. Also benefits being taken out at certain checks confused me for awhile originally.
