Remake of Carbon Reduction Opinion by Emily Zann

President Biden is announcing that he wants to reduce carbon emissions in the United States by the year 2031. With so many varying opinions on the best way to go forward, Biden wants input from the younger generation. Our class will be able to send him our recommendations!
As a group, based off of what you know and what we talked about today, you will form an opinion on what you think is the best way to reduce the country's carbon emissions.

Are group decided to choose solar power. We picked solar power because after your build it you get free energy from the sun and solar power does not create green house gases. the limitations are that they are expensive and take up a lot of space. An effect on the environment is that they take up space which means we might destroy the habitats of animals building solar panels. This is unintended but we could build them away from the habitats of animals.

Our group decided to do a mix of all three. We thought that we could use nuclear energy when solar or wind energy wasn't effective enough or there wasn't enough space. The United states also has enough money and resources to make nuclear energy more of an option safely. Nuclear energy does not produce much air pollution or emissions making it a more environmentally friendly option as well.

Our group feels that a combination of Wind, and solar energy would work well. We want to build wind turbines in rural areas with enough space, and unused bodies of water, such as lakes people don't swim in. Wind turbines are extremely cost affective and would create jobs for small towns as well as being extremely sustainable and renewable. Because turbines take up so much space, and cannot really be fit into cities, we would build solar panels onto big city buildings to supply energy. Solar panels take up small amounts of space, and are also very sustainable, however they are costly, and could be difficult for some cities to afford. These would help cut down on carbon emissions greatly.

For our group we decided that our main source of energy will come from wind turbines, following that will be solar and after solar will be nuclear. We think wind energy would be our best environmentally friendly choice due to the few negative effects it has on the environment unlike nuclear. For big cities we would use nuclear energy as it would power them very efficiently and would have the energy to do so. For smaller cities we would use solar and wind. The strengths of this option is that it doesn't emit any carbon emissions are relies natural ways of getting energy. The limitations are that we would need a large space to make this option efficient. It impacts the environment in one negative way, it could possibly hit birds when the turbines are spinning and possibly would kill them. This is not intended to happen, we don't want this to happen but if we were to use this it is definitely a possibility. That is our only negative environment impact .

We chose that using both solar and wind energy would be the best. We chose these because they weren't harmful and there are enough resources, and wind and sun. A limitation would be needing space to build wind turbines because they need a area with lots of wind. There could also be a limitation on solar panels because it's expensive. They could impact the environment because birds and other wildlife might be killed by them. This isn't intended.

We think solar panels/solar energy would be the best energy source option. The strengths of this option are that it is environmentally friendly and in the long run you see return from investing in solar panels. The limitations of this energy source are, solar panels are expensive upfront, and they require a lot of space. Solar energy has a positive impact on the environment. It does not produce any harmful gasses.
