On her way back, she saw Peris standing out there waiting for her, she thought that he would not come to her birthday and starts talking with him. She explains her situation to Peris, of her promise with Shay that she would not sell her out, but at the same time, Peris reminds her about their promise of being together, meaning that she would need to sell out Shay in order to become pretty. It was from that moment on that she had changed her decision, deciding to tell everything to Dr Cable about her relation with Shay and her plans. She realized that the Rusties had been gone for a long time, so she isn’t alone. What’s more, Tally deciphers the cipher that gives name to the chapter: when she and Shay were talking about the future, Tally said that the right side of her face is the one she despised. So she took the right and ended up in a place full of white flowers, where she started to figure out the next part of Shay’s note.   • Tally wakes up in the middle of fire 
  • She quickly goes out of her bunker and realizes special circumstances is invading The Smoke
  • She starts running and meets The Boss 
  • They try to plan out a way to get out of The Smoke and into the forest 
  • At first, The boss would be the bait and fight with Special Circumstances but then he sees that Tally has no shoes on. Consequently, they change charges and Tally becomes responsible for being the bait and spraying pepper on the Special Circumstances guy. 
  • Tally is able to run to the forest and hide, however they look out for the Smokies in the forest and she ends up being captured.

He explained that a bacteria was created that transformed petroleum into phosphorus (explodes in contact with oxygen). When the smoke burned out, spores were released, infecting more oil.     The Special Circumstances people were scanning and they called Tally to talk with Dr. Cable which only makes Shay more positive that she betrayed the Smoke.

     David and Tally go to meet the uglies who are interested in the Smoke. Now Tally does what she does best: she lies. She tells the uglies that the Smoke is moving right now (to avoid getting caught).
    And they make a plan for the uglies to distract most of the Specials.
