One of the worst one is winter. They are long and cold, and during some of the coldest months, lake erie can freeze over completely!     This climate affects plants, animals, and people. Trees such as oak and maple drop their leaves, and bears hibernate. The humans have to cope with the winters. A particularly powerful storm called a ''northeaster'' can bring one foot of snow at a time!
