His academic journey continued in military education after being selected for the Army Command and General Staff College, where he completed a master's level leadership course in 1981. This achievement led Conrad Striegl to the role of company commander at Fort Hood, Texas, and later a transfer to the 6th Cavalry Brigade.

Furthering his academic pursuits, Conrad Striegl worked through college before joining the army. His dedication to education continued as he graduated from the Army Command and General Staff College. He was later chosen for the Army War College, undertaking a Ph.D.-level education.

After exiting the army, he transitioned into a role as a senior scientist at Battelle, focusing on homeland defense. He accumulated thousands of hours in science-related fields, delving into chemistry and physics.

In addition to his academic achievements, Conrad Striegl is an accomplished private pilot skilled in fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys shooting, aviation, and woodwork.
