My boys played soccer and baseball when they were younger and always enjoyed watching sports. Living in Central California, we would travel to San Francisco and Oakland to watch baseball games. After attending a few Fresno Grizzlies games a few years ago for school activities, we decided to become season ticket holders. With COVID cancelling all of their games, we are really missing that part of our family fun. We are happy that sports have resumed on TV, but we look forward to going back to Chukchansi Park. We are all introverts and enjoy doing activities where we are away from crowds and can enjoy peace and a slower pace of life. We like to go camping together. One of our most memorable moments was a trip that we took to the Sequoias when my mom and my brother's family came to visit during Christmas of 2019. Last week was a very special day for my family as my two daughters were finally able to do their First Communion. They had spent the last two years preparing for this day, where they could receive the Sacrament of Eucharist. As a family we had all prepared for this day, which was initially supposed to happen in May, but due to COVID-19 it got postponed indefinitely. Two weeks ago, their catechist called to say they got approval from the diocese to proceed with the postponed communions as long as they could do it outdoors. It was a very intimate ceremony and we couldn’t invite all family members, but the important thing is that my daughters were finally able to receive this important sacrament. I am currently living back home with my family as I prepare to move into the condo that I just purchased. I have a small but very close family, and it has been fun to be with them especially in these stressful times. During my basketball days, I was known for my speed and qiuckness, although I have lost a step. I am usually faster and quicker than my opponents. As I  have gotten older tennis I have really enjoyed tennis. Tennis allows me to have an oppurtunity to apply my competitve nature while developing in another sport. Tennis is a sport that I can play forever. I play mostly doubles and I love it!

My family is from Seattle, WA and we are so blessed and thankful that we are still creating beautiful memories with our grandparents. We love seafood, and my mother is the queen of whipping up a delicious Vietnamese seafood dish that typically includes salmon, crab, clams, mussels, and oysters. Living in the Pacific Northwest has given us the opportunity to explore the outdoors and catch wild fish to be cooked the same day. At first, I was intimidated by the idea of having a self-contained classroom. My eighth graders are the same group for English, Art, Math, and Science. However, I have loved being able to get to know them and see/hear from them every day. This is my first experience teaching an Art elective, and I have been so impressed by how creative and willing to experiment they are. This is one of their digital self-portrait projects.
