The British thought that this war was caused by the French because they were creating a chain of forts in the Ohio River Valley. The French were doing this to keep the British from expanding westward. The Virginia militia (Lead by George Washington) went to the Ohio River Valley to check out the French’s chain of fort and ended up at Duquesne Fort. At that fort the militia had a small victory, but eventually they were over powered by the French and Native Americans. This lead to a final war between the British and the French. Yes, we are still British Citizens.

Knox, Lain, Jared, Cade

The colonies of the new world had a large amount of disunity. One representative from each of 7 colonies met up in Albany, New York to discuss this problem. Hoping to fix this issue, Benjamin Franklin created a solution called the Albany Plan of Union. This plan would create a common sense of taxation and hiring troops. This plan was never put into play since each colony had too much pride for their own taxation system. They are still British citizens at this point, but this is when they start to split off.

In 1755, General Braddock, and his force of British and Virginia militiamen were out to exile the French from Fort Duquesne. The French and Native alliance led out to ambush his force, attacking from the woods. The British proceeded to act cowardly showing their lack of invincibility. This caused hundred of British troops, along with General Braddock, to be killed or wounded. After this event, the colonists are still considered British citizens.

The colonist didn’t receive this well and became angered by it. The colonist are still British citizens after this.
