hi everyone, i am back to the new semester (3), together with new resolution or my new target...every new semester i will bring together with my high resolution that i have to achieve. no matter what happen, i must make sure that at the end of this semester all my target and what i want i can achieve successfully (God help me and give me strength for me to face all the thing that will come to me for this semester)..
This semester i have to came early before the new semester open. this is because i have to handle the new students registration(juniors). I am one of the facilitators of my college. Last week was the hectic week as i have to handle the the orientation activities. i miss my parents already:(:( ... and i start miss my youngest brother,my bed..sob, sob:((((((
This week everything going smoothly. All the classes are starting with the briefing of the the courses for the whole semester. For this semester, the microbiology courses are separated into two specific subject which are physiology and bacteriology..
I hope that, this semester is better than last two semester
bye

We start to learn the first chapter of each courses.
Prof Raja is my bacteriology lecturer while Prof Tan is teaching me for laboratory session class. I feel grateful to be one the students of this both experienced lecturer. I am looking forward to learn with them.

Newcastle Disease Virus(NDV) is our first laboratory experiment for this semester. I really excited to conduct this experiment but sometimes i not as i have to inject the virus to the chicken eggs(i feel sorry to the chicken).
This lab will cover for the three week laboratory class as the are many procedure for this experiment. The laboratory is on afternoon for Wednesday which is from two to six o'clock. This is the first semester our class have lab class in evening session. This semester, i meet again with Puan Sharifah or we just call her Puan Pah.Every semester she take care of our lab class. She is very kind and have a lots of experienced about microbiology lab.
I Think that all for this week..bye
-Raihan

#abahumiilovebothofyou

hi everyone..now already week three. How fast the time run without wait for us even a second. So,i want to remind all of you and also myself start to appreciate the time.

Okay back to my microbiology's life..heheheh
this week going smoothly. for practical class this week is the last week we work on the Newcastle Disease Virus experiment. The last step to harvest and purify thesolution HA and HI assay. For this week, Prof Tan explained to us how the heamagglution assay(HA) form. then we also observed our micro plate. There is lattice structure and red button structure.

This formed because of the:
Sialic acid on surface of RBC will bind to heamagglutinin glycoprotein in surface of the NDV. This will create a network or lattice structure. this formation is depend on the virus concentration. If the virus concentration is low, the RBC not constrained by the lattice. It will settle down to the bottom well and form red button structure.
OKAY, that all from me for this week:)
-RaihanRamli

#abahumiilovebothofyou

hi everyone..
this week , my group and i presented our enzyme structure. the structure must follow some criteria which are oligopeptide structure and must in 3D shape..unfortunately, our group does not follow the second criteria. but i am so grateful that we able to make a new structure before the presentation. The presentation was on Wednesday, luckily we brought our model on Tuesday evening to show it to Dr Baya(a day before the presentation). She commented on our model. She said that our model is right but not in 3D shape. She cant't do anything as this was our group fault. At that time i felt like gonna died as we spend the our whole weekend to fiinish it.

ON THE SPOT, we make decision on how to make our model in 3D shape. Then, we came out with final decisions that we will make it again. CAN YOU IMAGINE, we only have about less that 24 hours to make it again before the presentation. no matter what happen, we wanted to do it again. The materials were run out as we have used almost all of the polystyrene balls. Then, we went to MINES to buy the new set of polystyrene ball. We have to skipped our one hours BBI class on that evening. We do not have choice at that time as we really need the polystyrene ball.
We spent until 3 a.m to make it again.

But something bad happen again ..argghhh stresss..our model 3D model destroy again when we on our way from Uber car to the foyer as the it was windy morning..OMG WE HAVE ABOUT 1 1/2 hour before the presentation..then we quickly rearranged it again. Alhamdulillah, we able rebuild the model...
see how many challenges we faced to finish this project...
we spent almost hundred for this project..
it was horrible story for me..hahah
okay, bye
-RaihanRamli

#abahumiilovebothofyou

I am so sad to came back here and start to carry on my usual life routine.
For my practical class this week, we carried Serology techniques. it is about immunological techniques that is ued in the laboratory. ELISA is one of the serology techniques. the principles of ELISA is the used of the enzyme to show specific combination with antibody. The objective conduct this test is detect the interaction of antigens with antibodies. Next, this test is for the detection and quantitation of antibodies in serum, for detection of disease spread, to diagnose microbial infections. Lastly this test help to describe on how the immunological reaction, and explain the factor affect antigen antibody binding.

Second serology techniques is ABO blood typing test. For blood typing test, the test is conducted by using Eldon card Home Kit. The agglutination of blood indicate positive result . the sample of blood is my own blood. Fro the result, blood have show positive A and positive Rhesus factor.

Example of carbon sources that used are NaAc, Cu. For this lab, Dr Termizi wiil be our lecturere. This is the first i we have class with him. For me, he is very funny and sometime quite . I think , Dr Termizi is major in fungi. This only what i guest about him..hehehhe
this week, there was pre test for biomolecules. I only got low mark for the pre-test .. the factor was i not well prepared for this test..
so sad..

hi everyone,
this week was the week for scl2 for biomolecules. We have to do a role play that consist of two scenes. The first scene is about the enzyme function and for the second scene was the factor the effect the enzyme function. My group got "effect of enzyme concentration". It quite easy as we have to control the amount of enzyme and see what was the effect for the enzyme activity.

For scene one, our story line was about the delivery of offer letter. We compared the time taken postman deliver the letter nowadays with old time methode. What we try to show was the function of Enzyme transferase. I played as Salmah who lived in old time and miss the offer letter because of late getting the offer letter.

For the second scene, our concept is about restaurant. We increase the of enzyme(chef) and fixed the number of customer. I played as customer for this scene. Thanks a lot to all my group members for their contribution.

we also have our fields work on 'hubungan etnik" at Kuala lumpu. We visted the chapati stall and try to make our own chapati at sue's house. This was my first experienced make chapati. Thank you to Sue and her kind hearted mother that hepl our group a lot. For me, biomolecules was the hardest paper..although the time provided was two hours, it still not enough for me. The questions were quite tought.. I felt like want to scream loudly when answers that questions..
for microbiology laboratory class, we observed the fungi that we have culture under microscope. We want to observe the spore bearing culture of the particular fungi sample. We managed to find out the spore bearing structure. I stained the fungi using Lacthopenol cotton blue dye to stain the fungi.

I also try to use sellotape techniques to get the spore bearing structure. For me using sellotape techniques was easy to find the spore structure. But the lab demonstrator not preferred me to use the Sellotape techniques, She said that when doing final year project on fungi, students have tostain their fungi sample Lactophenol Cotton Blue.

Hi everyone,
For practical we did on the extraction of genomic bacteria and the extraction of plasmid.
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms like bacteria. Most DNA is located in the cell nucleus, where it is called nuclear DNA. The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T).Bacteria also have plasmid. It is separated from chromosomal DNA. In this experiment, both of the genomic DNA and plasmid are extracted from the bacteria cell. The both extraction then will cut using restriction enzyme before undergoes electrophoresis. Electrophoresis is a laboratory technique used to separate charged molecules. From the electrophoresis, the band of the sample can be visualize as loading dye colour it for better visualization. I took photo of the DNA band under UV imager. This experiment was very interesting.
bye:)

-RaihanRamli

We already covered all the topics. Honestly, i am grateful to have Miss Sarah as my BBI lecturer. She is very kind and really understand us. They way she teach was very good and she explained clearly about every topic. I comfortable to learn with her.
Bye miss,till we meet again

this week i also did my presentation on 3MT. I talked about photosynthetic bacteria. It was about the ability of microbe undergoes photosynthesis to gain energy from sunlight. It can be classified into two category which are oxygenic and anoxygenic bacteria. Bacteria under class of oxygenic bacteria can produced oxygen as result from photosynthesi. While anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria cannot produced oxygen from its photosynthesis. The example of oxygenic photosynthetic bacteria is Cynobacteria while for anoxygenic is Heliobacteria. Heliobacteria is special bacteria as it contain bacteriophyll g that cannot find in others bacteria.

To all my friends and myself good luck for final.
