The story Escape From East Berlin by Andy Marino is about the struggles of Marta and Kurt to escape East Berlin. Marta's story takes place in 1961 years after the end of WW2, and she is living in East Berlin, and at the beginning her brother Stefan tries to swin across the border between West and East Berlin but dies trying to swim across. Kurt is a younger man who wants to Escape to West Berlin, but his family members are Stasi so it's different for both of them. They share a similar approach to the problem as they're both heavily monitored by the Stasi so it's more difficult for them to escape. At the end of both of their stories there is a contrast in what happens in the end as Marta escapes with her family, whilst Kurt is all by himself.

In the books and movies about Batman he's highlighted as the main character and that he does everything by himself, but what is he without his sidekicks? His butler Alfred keeps the bat cave clean while Batman is finding the numerous villains in the series. Batman has an entourage of sidekicks that help him while he's catching these villains, for example Robin who is with him basically every adventure they have together. During the movies, Batman was being helped to stop the villain of the movie by the police Commissioner Gordon. Gordon helps Batman through using the Bat signal to tell him when their was someone or something abrupt happening.

Another example of this is the series of stories known as Spy School by Stuart Gibbs. In Spy School, the main character Ben Ripley is helped by his friends and other adults in the series in helping to foil the plots of different villains alliances. Without the minor characters in the story Ben could've failed different missions, and the series could've ended a little too early. For example in the 2nd book of the spy school story Ben is in the summer camp and they are ambushed by the evil team. In the event, Ben was helped by the camp counselors in which they protected him from the bullets and bombs thrown at him.
