His father was 43 years older then his mom and when Albert was born, his dad was 75 years old. 

Many of his family members were diagnosed with mental illnesses. His uncle suffered from mania. A brother was confined in a state mental hospital. His sister was diagnosed with a "mental affliction". Three other relatives were diagnosed with mental illnesses, and his mother had "aural and/or visual hallucinations".

Albert's mom arranged a marriage for him and a woman who was 9 years younger then him in 1898. They had 6 children. In 1917 Fish's wife left him and their children and Fish had to raise the kids by himself. Also, according to Fish his wife took almost every possession the family owned. Around that same time, his auditory hallucinations began, he also began self harm and his interest in cannibalism spiked.

Albert was put into a orphanage until he was about nine when his mom was able to get a job and take better care of him. However when he was in the orphanage, he was brutally beat, but after awhile he began to enjoy the beatings....Beginning of a very messed up guy. 
After he got out of the orphanage he began a strange friendship where this boy introduced albert to very messed up things, like drinking urine and eating feces. Didn't anyone socialize this boy to know that drinking urine and eating feces is DISGUSTING.
