Identity in this text is present through memories. Memories are all experiences that make up who we are and change our personality, which is a big part of identity. Authority is mentioned through the incident with the author mistaking a retold memory for his own. However, it still affected his identity since it stuck with him until he was older and the fact that it was only told from a letter that his brother wrote was lost, showing that the authority of memories doesn't always need to be right in order for them to affect our identity.

The two profiles portray Ardern as a woman in power, who wants to relate to everybody in their country. She is presented as a regular person, one that has every-day responsibilities apart from being the prime minister. I believe the structural elements of the second text contribute in painting her in a good light, because of the fact that it's written as sort of a story and it succeeds in pulling people into the narrative.

The authority in this text is very different from how it is usually. There is an added sense of care for the people and not that much presentation of power over the people, but it's the need to help them that prevails. Ardern is focused on propelling her nation forward by using fair means and sharp decision-making. She holds power in this text through strict diplomacy and professionalism which gives her the edge over certain politicians who would just say whatever came to their mind.

New Zealand is presented as a place of culture and people that value their nation. They do have issues in the country as stated by the prime minister, however every one who has a position in the government is actively involved in solving them and securing a better place for New Zealanders.
