I think ppl imagined what their day to day life would look like for the next four years. Although the oppression of marginalized individuals changes their day to day experience, many are out of touch with this kind of suffering and experience suffering of a different kind, such as poverty. It seemed like people saw Trump as a better option for going to the grocery store, paying for gas etc even with all his racist, homophobic rhetoric etc

I think imagination in politics plays a large roll in Americans decisions. We can only imagine the state of the country.

i think anything can be reimagined with time and with changing dynamics. what is being reimagined now was not a problem 100 years ago for example. i think we have to shift our imagination to the time we are living in. by embracing change and progressivism it can become easier to reimagine norms and policies to fit new norms.

It’s like what u guys said earlier, that it helps focus on the support system instead of the relationship dynamics. Then it would help the kids search for more genuine relationships instead of trying to fit their relationships into boxes

I think it would allow families of all structures to be given equal opportunities throughout the world or the US especially within Law or even with adoption agency seem to pick more normative family. I think that embracing a non normative family structure could help change policies and ideologies that republicans continue pushing under the guise of “traditional family values” which is just a dog whistle for heterosexual white suburban families.

I think embracing a non-normative family structure would allow for all types of families to feel accepted by and represented in all policies. Reimagining the norms will aid in people’s mental health and the policies that follow these policies.

In regard to families, our family norms will change. The judgment that comes to non-normative families will definitely decrease or slowly go away. In the view of the government, issues of taxes that non-normative families face and how their children are affected will also change.
