Martin Luther King was an African American born into the white supremacy era. King was born January the 15th1929 at his family home in Atlanta. King spent his undergraduate years at Atlanta’s Morehouse college (1944-1948), King gradually overcame his initial reluctance to accept his inherited calling.[1] Morehouse president Benjamin E. Mays influenced Kings spiritual development by encouraging him to view Christianity as a potential force for progressive social change.[2] He was ordained by his final semester at Morehouse, by this time King had also taken his first steps towards political activism. He had responded to the post war wave of Anti black violence by proclaiming in a letter to the editor of the Atlanta constitution that African Americans were “entitled to the basic rights and opportunities of American citizens”.[3] King is well known for standing up to the white civil rights and fighting for all of the African Americans to be treated like human beings. One of the most famous things he did was that he won the battle with out using any type of violence, only peace and strong words was used in king’s rally’s. He was against all of the odds and was hated by many white Americans, he got abused everywhere he went. People hated him, but with out King the white supremacy would’ve still been around today.

<sup>
[1] Beyond Civil Rights |The Martin Luther KIng Jr. Center For Nonviolent Social Change 2014, The King Center, Atlanta, Geogia, accessed 5 April 2017, <http://www.thekingcenter.org/upbringing-studies>. [2] Beyond Civil Rights |The Martin Luther KIng Jr. Center For Nonviolent Social Change 2014, The King Center, Atlanta, Geogia, accessed 5 April 2017, <http://www.thekingcenter.org/upbringing-studies>.

King has changed the world for all black people, not just in America but everywhere. Before king came along, the white Americans had such a narrow mind on what the black rights should be. During the white supremacy era the black rights where astounding, there were lanes where only black people could walk in, black toilets, black supermarkets and black airport seats. if the black people disobeyed they would get put in jail and fined. So what king did, he opened up people’s world view and changed it for the better. Proving that black people do have feelings and deserve the same rights as the whites. He changed history and inspired and whole generation to change their world view about colored people.

King has a very high education in Christian and Baptist religion, attending Christian schools like, ‘Atlanta’s Morehouse college, Crozier theological seminary and then finally attended Reinhold Niebuhr’s neo-orthodoxy.’ With king attending these schools they changed king’s worldview to be more based around god, he believed that God had made everyone to love each other like family. Everyone to be treated the same and no one to be treated differently. He wanted the world to be peaceful with no violence, everyone to be treated with respect and to be loved just as your neighbor.

King, during his protesting rally he would’ve offending a lot of white Americans, just by standing up for what he believed in and trying to change everyone’s worldview. By using a non violent approach to his black rights movement made King more hated by the white Americans. It took a long time but King eventually succeeded in making black rights a part of the American life.

Doctor King had a dream, his dream was for all human kind no matter what colour to live as a brotherhood and sisterhood. He wanted a world were there was no violence, no discrimination due to the colour of one man or woman’s skin. The most inspiring thing about King Is that everyone was against his civil rights movement, even some of the black people in “the Ghetto” were against his beliefs. King became less popular during the Vietnam cold war, with King strongly rooted to his beliefs about war and racial treatment. Kings fight against poverty and militarism lasted for 2 whole years, with king traveling the world to spread his ideas and beliefs hoping that people would listen to his powerful words. People hated Dr king with how he was constantly protesting, performing speech’s and trying to change the civil rights for the black race. That is what is inspiring about King, all the odds where against him but with out King the world wouldn't be how it is today. The multicultural countries, refuges and equal rights. Everyone today is treated the same no matter what skin colour they possess. All of that is thanks to Martin Luther King Jr.

What did Martin Luther King do that created him into a world figure.

Martin Luther King Jr is an African American born in America in the state called Atlanta, with the Black race being treated unfairly at this time compared to the White race King wanted to make a difference to his society. King was heavily involved with the Christian and Baptist colleges whilst achieving a very level of education in christianity. King had a worldview that 'every man, woman or child is a son of god, and should be treated the same way no matter what colour or nationality.' Kings worldview firmly set in place king wanted to make America a better place for all Americans white, black, Mexican or Hispanic. he wanted every person to be treated fairly with love and respect. King changed American and world history forever by changing the Black rights so every man and women is treated the same no matter what race. But the most amazing part about the King campaign is that he used force but a nonviolent force to change the civil rights for the Black Race. Martin Luther King Jr changed the way the world is today and how different races are treated.
