Many of our English Language Learners receive accommodations that have previously only been available in a limited capacity.  Now, with their iPads, they are able to be more independent and not rely solely on teacher assistance.  These students are also able to better comprehend class material by using an online translator, speech to text feature (scribe), and the Speak Selection feature (reader) on their iPads.  In addition to that, we are able to get more genuine student engagement (100% of students) and adequate formative assessment data in a timely manner through the use of apps, such as Nearpod and Google Classroom.  The students are also able to design high-quality projects to show their proficiency in target Common Core and real-world skills.   For example, our students just finished drafting, editing, and assessing one another's high school application letters that will go both into their district online portfolios and be mailed to the high schools of their choice.

Reading Goal:
DK must have a reader, and is making excellent use of the reader feature on his I Pad.   With a base line of 60%, he has made  progress at 77%, with all accommodations and on his instructional level.  He is only able to meet this goal with a reader, prompts and cues, and chunking.  He also is getting his SDIs to include instruction in comprehension strategies and use in text features.  These will continue.  It is anticipated that he will meet his goal.
 
Writing Goal : 
With a scribe, all accommodations and with a base line of 60%, Daniel has made  progress at 77% on his instructional level.  DK has many good ideas and can tell them to a scribe in sentence form.  SDIs, to include attending to all oral prompts and cues and use in a graphic organizer will continue. With a scribe DK is able to relay his thoughts and tell the scribe where to put basic punctuation and capitalization. He is making excellent use of the dictation feature on his I Pad. It is anticipated that he will meet his goal.
