Which browsers support GIF?
All major browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer and Chrome support GIFs.

Can they have transparent backgrounds?
Yes, but they will be given 'halos' which will be visible.

What is interlacing, does GIF support it?
Interlacing is something that makes images load odd or even lines first, and then loads the rest of the lines on the next cycle.

What client software needs to be installed to view a GIF?
A web browser such as firefox, as Windows does not come with a default program to open them.

How does the lossless LZW's data compression affect GIF images? The LZW's data compression makes the GIF files compressed and makes the file size smaller.

How would you describe the file sizes of GIFS?
The file size of GIFS is good as it has a limited colour palette. This means that the file size will be kept down due to the low amount of colours possible to have.
