Just a reminder about your mock tomorrow.

I have put a selection of materials and paper etc into the science prep room ready to use. If you need anything else, the A Level Art cupboard will be open for you to access.

Please ensure that you arrive in good time so that you can prepare any materials in advance.

The three hours will need to be completed under exam conditions so please avoid listening to music or using your phone (unless you are using it to access images)

If you need anything printing before tomorrow please let me know in good time as I am invigilating another exam tomorrow afternoon so will not be available.

1. Complete your Personal Investigation outcome

2. Begin to refine ideas in your sketchbook showing the development of your theme so far (we will talk about this in more detail in Tuesday's lesson)

3. Choose a range of objects associated with your theme that you can bring into college next week to conduct some still life observational drawing. Aim for around 4-5 inanimate objects. We will photograph them and explore perspective, scale, line and tonal work

Please ensure that you come prepared to Monday's lesson with a number of (4-5) objects associated with your chosen theme.

Plan for the week:

3. Continue to refine work using techniques explored during last week's lesson

• Complete all still life work, aim to incorporate some watercolour studies into at least one area as discussed in class

• Find another artist to explore for your next piece of artist research. Do some research into their work and collect some images to use for analysis. We will work on this next week but please have someone in mind for Monday's lesson.

• Upload all work to Padlet - PLEASE ensure that you do this - It's very important that I can see how your work is progressing. Continue to upload work even if it is unfinished!

Next week we will develop your next piece of artist research and use ideas for further inspiration as discussed this week.
I recommend having a listen to some of the podcasts listed too - they are good to dip in and out of while you are working.
If you are coming to parent's evening, please bring your sketchbook with you. It's a great opportunity to show off your beautiful work so that they can see how you are getting on.

2. Create a next steps mind map to consolidate your ideas and streamline the theme that you have chosen. This will give you a more structured idea of how you want your project to progress

3. Choose another artist to explore as inspiration for your theme. See slides in Google Classroom for instructions on how to present this. Remember - you should focus more on the analysis of the artist's work and how they have inspired you rather than too much of a biography of the artist. Aim to delve more deeply into the research

4. Ensure that all of your work is uploaded to Padlet as you progress

1. Ensure that all work from last week is uploaded to your Padlet 

2. Focus on source imagery and collecting primary source photographs - plan photoshoots and collect as much first hand research as possible. Put these into contact sheets and annotate 

3. Create further observational drawings from your primary source material showing how your theme is developing

4. Upload all work from this week to your Padlet - ensure that this is up to date by half term

Choose an image/ primary source photograph that you already have. Refine and change it in some way so that you end up with a different outcome.

For example:

• Play around with scale, perspective, composition, colour, angles

• You might photocopy a drawing and work directly on top to develop and experiment

• Use a viewfinder to enlarge a section and use mixed media as you explore distorting it 

Be bold, brave and creative. Photograph the process as you go to record in your sketchbook (AO3)

Avoid being repetitive and working on the same area over and over again
