It gives options for teachers to choose from as tools to meet our Instructional Focus. We use some strategies listed already, but acts as a "one stop shop".

Alignment with IF

Writing is currently in the IF...we are moving to focus on reading skills.

The suggestions in the Language and Literacy document will be helpful for discussion with ILT. Specifically looking to promote stamina in reading and active reading strategies.

The team loved the tool. It directly connects to our instructional expectations. The idea of tiering was a hit. They shared that the strategies were good for all scholars not just SWD and ELLs.

We observed that the majority of strategies listed are already being implemented, and we edited the document to now include additional strategies not originally mentioned in the District's version but which are being implemented at our school.

While we haven't incorporated it yet, our instructional cabinet and admin team discussing how it can be integrated in the MTSS Professional Development Training that we have been doing with our teachers. Tiering scholars based on data is difficult, so we have been creating scenarios based on data and having teachers work in teams to determine which of the strategies work best for scholars based on the unit/ content/ etc.

The Reading, Writing and Discussion schema align with our instructional model and our grading policy, and we are happy to use this framework to add strategies and activities, particularly for tier 2 and 3 interventions.

We should add a color coded system to highlight which strategy/system can support cross regents growth. Ex. Red if all Regents benefit, Blue: ELA/SS, Green: Math, LE, etc. This would be great for teachers and students to see the depth and value of the strategy.

Our ENL team has begun aligning these strategies with specific students need- highly customizable...

There is alignment in some areas while offering additional strategies that teachers can implement into their instructional practice.
