Students will also gain a better understanding on how their disciplines affect / can help in different global issues.

I don’t think there are any limitations in the Core Curriculum as of now as it talks about SUSS philosophy of Head, Heart and Habit.

NIE351

a) global learning exposes students to diverse cultures, backgrounds and real-world issues. by exposing students to learn beyond their home country, it encourages adaptability to new environments/situations, and broaden our perspectives beyond living in singapore.

b) some limitations include high costs or language barriers. if students are not supported, we may experience "culture-shock" or may not be physically present during the overseas learning trip as we feel disengaged.

(a) This course helps to broaden students' perspectives on the concept of community through discussions about how diverse groups in a community work together to build and sustain relationships while navigating the changing world.

(b) I feel that the topics included in the course is quite comprehensive and allows students to gain perspective on both the micro and macro level. One suggestion would be to include the discussion on how technology has impacted different communities, and ways to adapt to these changes to remain relevant in the changing world.

a) The module: NCO201

I personally took this module last semester and I find that it can be helpful for future and global readiness as this module teach about the different learning mechanisms, understand one's own strength and weaknesses (reflection-based) and what type of intrinsic and extrinsic factors / motivation can boost one's learning ability to be more efficient. Since the world is changing, there is a need to continuously learn and adapt quickly in order to be stabilise.

b) Limitation would be since this involve collaboration and understanding the different types of learning strategies and tools, I feel like the contents can include more global situations? based on my memory, a lot of examples given or used is Singapore context (which is not wrong) but I think it is interesting to learn how or what other countries are promoting or using to ensure the citizens are continuously learning.

This module taught us about the cognitive mindset, which helps us analyze our way of thinking, improve decision-making, and understand how thoughts influence behavior. It encouraged critical thinking, self-awareness, and problem-solving skills. By reflecting on different perspectives, we learned how cognitive processes shape learning, communication, and growth in everyday life.

New Sun

Data is part of everyday life. Companies use data to understand people’s needs, make decisions, and improve their services. In today’s workplace, employees cannot only depend on experience or guessing. They need data and digital skills to solve problems and keep up with technology changes. This course helps students prepare for the future and global workplace. However, the course should include more practice based on real workplace situations so students can apply the skills better in real life.

NIE 351

A) This course exposes students to a wide range of multicultural beliefs and challenges, against the backdrop of a globalised economy, as it forces students to address real-world challenges outside of the academic setting by learning that real-world applications of theoretical knowledge learnt in university, is not as straightforward or simple like within a clinical environment. Students will need to learn hard lessons like compromise, liaising with stakeholders, amending to changing situations, which will challenge and grow them as individuals.

B) I feel that some of these lessons are afforded to some students only, as some of us have financial shortcomings, or other commitments that prevent us from learning via this controlled exposure, such as inflexible work arrangements, or caring for family. This can result in some students having the advantage of having a more well-rounded university education, that prepares them better for the workforce than their less privileged peers.

a) NCO101 helped me better understand the importance of community, teamwork, and empathy when interacting with people from different backgrounds. The module encouraged self-reflection and allowed me to appreciate how different experiences and perspectives can influence the way people think and behave in society.

b) One limitation is that some discussions may remain conceptual without sufficient real-world application. Incorporating more local case studies or practical scenarios could help students better connect the theories to societal and workplace contexts.
