This type of plastic has several disadvantages but comes with a number of advantages, and there are several industries that utilized food-based plastic in 2013.Now a days recycled materials are used everywhere and for everything and they decreased the pollution all over the world in the past couple of years.Food based plastic is just like any other project of it has Its advantages, for example its Eco-friendly, some companies started making their packages from an eatable materials for animals and that way we will recycled the food garbage and by recycling we will have less pollution, also the food based plastic requires less energy in the making that the normal or traditional plastic producing. On the other hand we have the disadvantages, these kind of new projects are really expansive because they’re new to the whole producing field which requires new expensive equipment and one more thing is not all countries produce these food based plastic because as we mentioned they’re very expensive and not all countries can afford these equipment and if you want a food based plastic manufacture you will need a big area away from the city and where people usually live. But in the past couple of years this industry has been growing fast in the developed countries and in the upcoming years more countries will adopt this project and apply it in their countries and that way we will save a lot of oil, gas and save the earth from the pollution and the animals who die from all the dirt human through in the sea and land for these animal to eat.

Food-based plastic has grown in interest with growing pressure on oil and gas resources. This type of plastic has several disadvantages but comes with a number of advantages, and there are several industries that utilized food-based plastic in 2013.The advantages of the food based plastic are that it produces much less gases than the conventional plastic and it requires much less energy to produce. As it also a renewable resource indefinitely if the farmers keep on growing the plant which produces the food based plastic. Now as if you are considering the food based plastic is a very environment friendly and it should be used everywhere , but it has disadvantages too. First of all the food based plastic has a very low melting point so it can’t be used everywhere and it’s not applicable for example the polylactic acid has a melting point of 46*c so it can’t be stored in the inventory of the supermarkets because the plastic will melt . and if you forget this plastic in your car on a sunny day , your car will turn into a pool of liquid fish food and the other disadvantage of this material is that it breakdowns in a very specific condition under industrial composting plants and if it is taken to a traditional dump waste it will break down as slow as the conventional plastic so many companies see this as a pollutant and a waste of money .So

This type of plastic has several disadvantages but comes with a number of advantages, and there are several industries that utilized food-based plastic in 2013.There is two advantages of food-based plastic that stands out the first being is that it’s made from plants that farmers usually grows everywhere in the world which makes it renewable and easy to produce, the second being is that it’s better for the environment because it reduces the release of gasses and it requires less energy to make. Therefore, it’s also has disadvantages the first and most important one being that it breaks down in low degrees which makes it unusable in supermarkets and such. And also food=based plastic is not as environmentally as you might think because it requires special conditions to breaks down plus it takes a lot of money and effort to process. However it also requires land which can be used produce food and fruit. Although the food-plastic industry represent 1% of the plastic. The U.S Department of Agriculture expects that in 2017 nearly 25% will go to make bio-fuel, some companies has already invested

Food-based plastic has grown in interest with growing pressure on oil and gas resources. This type of plastic has several disadvantages but comes with a number of advantages, and there are several industries that utilized food-based plastic in 2013.

One of the two important points that show that food-based plastics are better than its petrol-based counterparts are that they are made from a renewable resource that can continue indefinitely. Another point is that these plastics are considered to be much better for the environment as they require less energy produce and release a fewer greenhouse gases in the process; Moreover, they are bio-degradable and break down into harmless organic compounds, giving them an easy advantage over conventional plastics. However, food-based plastics have a few disadvantages as well - one being their low melting point at 46 degrees Celsius. In addition, most food-based plastics only break down under specific circumstances making them less environmentally friendly as they seem. As visible on the chart, food-based plastics are mostly used by packaging industries at 66.5% and much less in other categories such as agriculture, medical, textiles, and other industries, with the least being electronics at 3.5%.

In conclusion, food-based plastics have a few advantages that show that it’s renewable, requires less energy to make and is biodegradable. As well as some disadvantages limiting their use and show that they’re harder to break down. In my opinion, I think that food-based plastics make a better replacement in the long run as it is better for the environment and as technology grows the disadvantages will decrease and the advantages will add up to make it a better replacement with no competition.

Secondly, it need very low energy to be produced, so the government consider it because it is easier for them. On the other hand, food-based plastic has many disadvantages such as, melting and it is the main problem of food-based plastics. It melt when the degree is higher than 204. In addition, there a lot of super markets use corn-based plastics and these plastics can b melt in 46 degrees. 201400059
