The silhouette and contrast make this image feel striking. What brings emotions to me are the shapes of the smoke.

The contrast between the girl and the background is the first thing that caught my eye. The emphasis of the girls silhouette makes the background also stand out as they work with each other.

Don't get me wrong, looking at the person in this photograph I thought it was Rihanna. It's so interesting to see how the human stands out from the rest of the picture. With the steam or smoke in the background, you can clearly see the human silhouette. The glasses on her face, as to where the rest of the picture just seems to be cloudy and dark.

The strong contrast plus the fog or smoke covering the mysterious curve in the road

The stark lines of the dark silhouette contrasting with the light and soft background. In the upper right corner I can see a small lighter box, which kind of reminds me of a window. Almost like the smoke is filtering out.

What’s powerful in this image is the dark silhouette and moody essence. The smoke in the background makes you curious and tells a story. It’s powerful because it makes you feel something most likely sad or melancholy.
