If God gave him the sense  to discover and prove something then he would want this discovery to be known. He also says that the bible can be interpreted in many different ways and not one way can be solely right.
2. If one part of the bible can be proved to be wrong then the entire bible is incorrect. The church wanted everyone to fully believe in the bible and listen,  without doubt, to Priests and other members of the church
3. Global warming is similar to this incident because people refuse to believe in it even though their is sufficient proof and evidence that it is true.

- He is saying that according to the bible, the sun revolves around the earth with all the other planets, but he also states that it is wrong to question the bible and it is not religious. But he also states that God made us to ask questions and be curious and to challenge the answer society knows.

- because they don't want people to ask about if the bible is wrong because if one thing in the bible is wrong then other things could possibly be wrong too.

His reasons for holding his beliefs that he did were that God says complicated things, some having other meanings. He basically said words in the bible have deeper meanings other than just what they say on the outside. He also says that God gave us intellect, for what reason, if we don't use it.
2. The church can't accept Galileo's research because it contradicts what the bible says. If Galileo turned out to be right, and other people believed it, whats to say they will stop believing other things in the bible.
