         <description><![CDATA[<div>-rejected twice for war pension&nbsp;<br>-reports from sister, - that before war was ok- impact of shell shock<br>-health generally broke down= increasingly worsening<br>-mentally very difficult to prove there was an issue<br>- treatment of soldiers= massive expansion of bureaucracy and medicalised language= sheer quanitiy of paper work<br>-everyone must be understood within this scientific framework<br>-becomes a subject and case rather than a person<br>- does't respond to questioning, sits around all day = descriptions of damaged individuals- attempts to understand<br>-trench foot, mustard gas= lung issues<br>-disability isn't permanent- will only last 6 months, then back to work<br>- first war that they encountered this sort of disease<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
