In this scenario, people responded with violence. Rioting, destroying property. No one could stand the wall for the most part. On the other side, the public and the military protected the wall. Standing in front of it, and threatening to hurt whoever tries to take it down. So in general people can deal with things in bad ways, and in their rage, the conflict is more than what they can handle. Which took place in the factory. Some jumping out of buildings. As well as hastily trying to escape through an elevator that never makes it to the bottom. Adrenaline can do a lot for people, like creating a burst of energy for their last chance to survive. But in this situation, this was halted by the situation itself.
