Therefore, they sent armies to Cambodia and started a policy of cultural Vietnamization. However, the uprisings of the Khmers in the southern regions of Vietnam had stopped the process.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After the independence of Cambodia, Cambodia maintained diplomatic relationships with South Vietnam and North Vietnam. However, during the war, both the Southern and Northern Vietnamese used Cambodian territory as territory of bases and supply routes to fight for Vietnam war. It was promised that there would be no harm to Cambodia during the 1954 Genova Conference. Although Cambodia was promised no harm, South Vietnam's administration supported a plot to overthrow the Cambodian government, which led to the Khmer Rouge.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Anti-Vietnamese protests, 2014</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Anti-Vietnamese protests started after the Vietnam embassy stated that Kampuchea Krom has been a long part of Vietnam. Protestors demanded for an apology from the Vietnamese embassy and recognize Kampuchea Krom as Cambodia's former territory. However, Vietnam did not do so. This led to outrage from the Cambodian community, many Vietnamese who were living in Cambodia were beaten, mobbed, and even killed just for their ethnicity. Additionally, Vietnamese monks who were in the temples of Koh Kong coastal island were banished from Cambodia.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Cambodian Vietnamese war was the war between the Democratic Kampuchea (controlled by the Khmer Rouge) and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (North and South Vietnam reunified). The war began with repeated attacks by the Democratic Kampuchea on Vietnam, many supporting countries tried to help Vietnam and Cambodia to have peace. However, Vietnam was not convinced and launched a full-scale attack on Cambodia in 1978. Subsequently, ending the reign of the Khmer Rouge.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The people who would usually think of Vietnam this way are the older generations since they had experienced the suffering caused by Vietnam, or the younger generations who were told that the Vietnamese are 'bad' people.</div>]]></description>
