What changes to school structures and routines could increase the visibility and focus on newcomers?

1. communicate with and coach teachers

2. Consider using a Spanish translator that can support students and communicate with parents at multiple sites

3. Support the use of Software tools such as Read180, Rosetta Stone, etc. 

4. Establish data protocols for newcomers and ELLs

5. Establish action steps based on the data review 

6. Advocate for integrated ELD among teachers in other content areas- this is visible at some of our schools, but not the majority. 

What successful strategies from the MM programs can we adapt to reinvent for our school’s unique needs?

1. Identify the expected outcomes and who is responsible for monitoring and reporting

   1. this person becomes the POC for the site admin. 

2. Designated an ELD team at the school to use integrated ELD 

   1. this team collaborates with the entire school and helps advocate for ELL and Newcomers

3.  Wholistic approach to support ELD in every subject- our CA Dashboard reflects the impact of our actions.

4. Create living Google classroom with KAMI assignments that are tailored by ELD staff and shared among all so that students can access content and follow-up questions as they progress through these modules. 

5. Perhaps conduct instruction from one campus, led by HQT ELD teacher, then have tutors/paras that guide the work for students who join virtually from difference campuses 

6. Provide side-by-side translation and format using in-design
