this is Mary Mackillop writing to her mother

24 November 1867 - Adelaide
J.M.J.

My dearest Mamma,

You are punishing me for my long delay in answering your last letter, but if you are well and your mind happy, I have cause to be thankful indeed. I never have cause to be anything else.

My Father Director has given me permission to write once a month to you – ‘tis now five weeks since I last wrote, and if my poor letters can give you any comfort, you shall, please God, have them regularly in future. My love and feeling for you have not cooled. I remember all the past but cannot grieve, nor can I when I think of your present lonely position, for at the same time I think of our dear, good and merciful God who has so honoured you and me, and it seems to me but a very poor offering I have to make Him when I lay your loneliness and sorrow before Him and beg of Him to accept my poor heart in spite of its unworthiness, and to be Himself your sweet and only Comforter.

Oh Mamma, if you but knew what the Sisters of St Joseph ought to be, and can be, too, if they but correspond with the graces they receive, you would rejoice more and more every day that you have one child amongst them and you would try to send another too. Now I suppose you will shake your head at this, but never mind, I am sure you won’t resist God’s Holy Will, and when the proper time comes, I hope dear Lexie will come too, but it will be sooner than you think, at least I hope so.

Did Peter like his letter? The poor child must have thought I had forgotten him. I cannot write more, for ‘tis time to go to bed – and I have not permission to sit up. You know I have to obey our holy Rule to the letter. Pray, my own dear Mamma, that I may have the grace to do so.

Monday morning – Father Woods is going to the North today and will see Donald. The poor boy will also think I am neglecting him – but when I know he is well, I do other things instead of writing to him. Give John my love when you write, and please tell him that, though I am a poor Nun at last, he may write to me.

Fond love to yourself and pray, dear Mamma for
Your affectionate child in J.M.J.
Mary of the Cross – Sister of St Joseph

Please write to me, and give Papa my love – ask him to write too.

Reprinted with permission from Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart.

Three worlds of the text

There are three world of the text what are the world behind the text, the world of the text and the world in front of the text. In the good Samaritan the parable is set on a road to Jericho to Jerusalem. The time in history the parable was set at the time Jesus was alive. The characters in the parable were the priest, the Samaritan, the man and the robbers and the neighbours. who hurt the man. The practices the he went through are trying to get help and by getting hurt by the man.

The parable was a narrative. The words what are helping us interpret the text are the good because something good is happening. love because Jesus loved us. Heart because Jesus told us to follow our hearts. The author has written this text because maybe one day we might be robbed and this is giving us lesson what we do to show love when this might happen because it can happen any day in our lives.

My personal experience is that when anyone is getting her like them man who got hurt they a person can come and help the and stop them from hearting them and give the love like mercy. The message in our daily lives are that we should treat our neighbours like how we want to be treated because we do not like to be treated disrespectfully we would like to be treat them with respect and kindness and always love one another. I think this parable inspired Mary Mackillop by showing love to our neighbours and when the part of the story was when man was getting robed the priest came to help him and Mary Mackillop always loved to help each other and treat other with respect.

The prayers worshiped her life by that she believed that god is listening to her and trusted that god is following. She sacrificed to help other by getting kicked out of the church of things she did not do the other nuns dobbed her in. She reconciled others by helping them when ever there was a need and helped them by giving them a good education for the children who could not afford school and not able to go to school and people who suffered.

The injustices Mary spoke about the injustices by helping the poor and who needed help like her quote never see a need without doing something about it that meant that any one who was suffering she helped them. She insured them by giving them a good education and helping them along the way for everyone who needed the help and didn’t have enough money to help them for education and a bright future. She ensured them by giving them a helping hand by giving the education for any children who were suffering in the poor so they can become something and earn money for their future because Mary Mackillop always loved to help others in help.

Mary influence others by making the first free school and only doing what her heart told her to do and doing thing what needed help. She lead her life by becoming a nun then getting kicked out and making her own free catholic school for any children. The Christian services she provided in her life is that she was becoming a nun in a church and making a free catholic school.
