Looking at this Usrah family, I am reminded of the countless blessings Allah has given us like the gift of friendship, the bond of sisterhood, and the opportunity to learn and grow together in faith. I want to express my deepest thanks to each one of us and especially to our beloved faci, which is sister Aisya Irdina 🤍. Thank you for your kindness, your support, and your presence. In this journey of life, having companions who remind us of Allah and encourage us to be better is truly a blessing. As the Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of friends are those who bring you closer to Allah.” May Allah reward all of you for your sincerity and efforts. May He keep our hearts united, strengthen our bond, and guide us toward Jannah together. Aaminn 🤲🏻

FASTING ( SAWN )

Fasting (Sawm) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, representing a profound spiritual and physical practice that strengthens a Muslim's faith and character. It involves abstaining from specific actions, such as eating, drinking, and engaging in certain behaviors, from dawn until sunset during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Benefits of Fasting

• Spiritual Benefits:

Deepens one’s connection to Allah.

Enhances self-awareness and patience.

Encourages community bonding and shared experiences.

• Physical Benefits:

Supports detoxification and improved metabolism.

Promotes mindful eating and healthier habits.

• Social Benefits:

Encourages acts of generosity and compassion.

Strengthens family and community ties through shared meals and worship.

Virtues of Fasting

1. Obedience to Allah

Fasting is an act of devotion and submission to Allah, as it fulfills one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

By fasting, Muslims demonstrate their willingness to prioritize Allah’s commands over their desires.

2. Attaining Taqwa (God-Consciousness)

Fasting fosters Taqwa, the awareness of Allah in all aspects of life.

This consciousness inspires Muslims to avoid sinful behavior and strive for moral excellence, both during and beyond the fasting period.

The Qur'an emphasizes this in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183):

"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous."

3. Spiritual Reward

Fasting carries immense rewards, as stated in a Hadith Qudsi (sacred narration):

"Fasting is for Me, and I will reward it." (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

The sincerity of fasting is unparalleled since it is a private act of worship between the individual and Allah.

4. Forgiveness of Sins

Fasting is a means of expiation for past sins. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward will have their past sins forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

5. Dua (Supplication) is Accepted

A fasting person’s supplication holds special significance and is likely to be accepted by Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"There are three whose supplications are not rejected: the fasting person until they break their fast, the just ruler, and the oppressed person." (Tirmidhi)

6. Gate of Ar-Rayyan

In Paradise, there is a special gate called Ar-Rayyan exclusively for those who fast.

"Indeed, in Paradise, there is a gate called Ar-Rayyan through which only those who fast will enter." (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

7. Shield from Sin and Hellfire

Fasting acts as a shield, protecting Muslims from sins and the punishment of Hellfire.

"Fasting is a shield; when one of you is fasting, let them not behave obscenely or foolishly. If someone fights or insults them, let them say, 'I am fasting.'” (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

8. Empathy and Compassion

By experiencing hunger and thirst, fasting cultivates empathy for the poor and less fortunate.

This heightened awareness often leads to increased acts of charity and kindness.

9. Self-Discipline and Patience

Fasting teaches self-restraint, patience, and perseverance.

These qualities help individuals build resilience and a stronger moral character.

10. Health Benefits

While the primary intention of fasting is spiritual, it often results in physical benefits, including improved metabolism, detoxification, and better regulation of habits.
